This is going to be a very long project, but I plan on posting updates.
I got this bonsai kit for Christmas, and I’ve been looking forward to getting the seeds started.
I don’t have a great track record with plants, but this kit comes with step by step instructions that I’m hoping will leave me with 5 or more bonsai trees. They should be sprouted and ready for potting in a month or so, if all goes well.
The first step is soaking the seeds. I wrote the names of the trees on these little cups and put 5 seeds in each like the instructions said. The kit came with lots of extra seeds for 4 of the 5 trees, so I can try again if I need to. The Delonix Regia only had 5 seeds, but they’re huge compared to the others. There’s also an extra packet of seeds that has more seeds in it, in case these fail, but I haven’t opened it yet to see what’s in it.
I’m excited to watch these seeds grow!
